I’ll be honest I may have had a little cry when I got home from weigh in tonight. I knew I’d been naughty, I’d given myself the week off and let myself eat and drink whatever I wanted. I expected a gain and was prepared for it. I wasn’t prepared for how much though!
I’ve been following a Slimming World way of eating for 12 weeks now and have seen how well it works. I’ve lost steadily and hadn’t gained once until this week. I know why it happened, I’d planned for it and knew I’d gain but not this much.
The first thing that affected my week was my sister’s hen party. I planned that I would eat and drink what I wanted. I was going to enjoy myself and wasn’t going to worry about it. I had a great time and it was worth it but for some reason I decided that because I was going to have one bad day I would give myself the whole week off plan. STUPID MISTAKE!!
I haven’t food optimised and drank way more than I should.
I also fell back into my old habit of living by the rule, ‘if you can’t have sleep, have sugar.’ Megan’s sleep has been terrible and I’ve been exhausted, looking for something to get me through the day. I know sugar isn’t the answer but goodness me it helps!
I don’t want to dwell too much on the week that’s gone. There’s nothing I can do about it now. It happened. It’s what happens next that I have control of.
I still struggle to believe that it is even possible to gain 4lbs in a one week but the scales don’t lie and it happened. It will take me 2-3 weeks at my current speed to get it off again but I’m going to try. I’m going to treat this week as if it were my first on plan and go back to basics: Meal planning, food diary and food optimising all the way. I’m also hoping for a weekend full of ‘body magic’ to speed things up a bit too!
I’ve been having a browse on the Pinch of Nom website today and have planned some meals that I’m really looking forward to for the rest of the week. This is what we’ll be eating:
Monday: Chicken curry with rice and SW onion bhajis.
Tuesday: Dirty Fries
Wednesday: Halloumi and pesto Mediterranean quinoa
Thursday: Fajita salad bowls
Friday: Chilli and lime baked salmon and new potatoes
Saturday: Chicken kebab
Sunday: Eating at my parent’s house. They’re on Slimming World too so should be something on plan!
