11 Weeks Pregnant: strops, sickness and the search for stretchmarks

Weekly quiz: 11 weeks Pregnant

How far along? 11 weeks 2 days

How big is baby? Baby is the same size as a lime!

Total weight gain/loss: No idea.  The battery has gone in our scales so I need to get a new one.  Probably a slight gain this week though.

Maternity clothes? I’m finding trousers less and less comfortable already. I’ll be honest and say that I’ve been wearing my maternity leggings a lot.  They are far too big on the belly at the moment but because they come up higher they don’t dig in on my ever expanding waist!

Stretch marks? No new ones yet.  I still haven’t started any kind of bump skincare routine but part of me thinks that the sooner I start the better… What do you think?  Does it make a difference if you use creams and oils or not?

Sleep: I am SOOO tired this week!  I’ve even had a few crafty half hour naps whilst Harry has had his nap.  At night I am getting up less to go to the toilet but I think I’m still up at least once most nights.

Best moment this week: Having my Mum and Dad round for a Slimming World ‘fake away’ feast last night and jumping in muddy puddles at Bramall Park with Alistair and Harry this morning.

Have you told family and friends: Obviously!  I wouldn’t dare post it on here if I hadn’t.

Movement: None felt yet but I’ve heard people say that you tend to feel movement earlier with your second baby so it may not be that long to wait!  I felt Harry at about 16 weeks but if I’m honest I never really felt him much at all as my placenta was at the front and acted like a cushion, stopping me feel most of his movements.  People tell me I’m lucky that I never had kicks in the ribs but to be honest I’m hoping that I feel this baby more as going days without feeling Harry move was terrifying.

Food cravings: I’ve still wanted yoghurt this week but not as much as last week.  I’ve also developed a bit of a taste for fruit salad sweets.  I’ve been enjoying lots of salad which my body seems to be craving more.  I’m finding that I can’t eat as much in one sitting as normal so am tending to graze throughout the day rather than eat big meals.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I still can’t drink tea and am pretty sure that this will last until baby is born as it did with Harry.  No food has really been making me sick, though I have started having a few more queezy spells over the past few days.

Have you started to show yet: I think so.  It probably just looks like I ate a big lunch to anyone who doesn’t know me but there’s a definite roundness to my belly.

Gender prediction: Most people seem to think I am having a girl because I feel so different in this pregnancy to my last.  I still can’t stop myself from saying ‘he’ though when I refer to baby!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On, last time I had to take my wedding ring off at around 34 weeks I think.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy mostly but I am very short tempered at the moment.  Little things are really irritating me and I’m quite snappy (especially with Alistair).  I’m trying not to use pregnancy as an excuse for being a bit of a cow but I honestly feel like my hormones are going a bit crazy at the moment.

Weekly Wisdom: Words of advice from Peppa Pig which came in very handy today, “If you jump in muddy puddles, you must wear your boots.”

Milestones: This week baby is growing fingernails and losing the webbing between his/her fingers and toes, looking more and more like a little person every day!

Bump Picture

I’ve decided this is definitely the beginning of a bump. What do you think? It’s getting quite firm and lying on my tummy is becoming less and less comfortable.
