All about feeding our little foodies

We’ve got some news…

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you!  It’s still early days but most of you have started to put the clues together and figure me out!

I’ve been so poorly over the past couple of weeks that I’ve just not been able to hide it.  I’ve literally never felt so ill before in my life, constant nausea, vomiting and dizziness have been crippling and I know I haven’t really posted much on here in that time.

I cannot begin to tell you how hard meal planning and cooking for a toddler is when the smell of 99% of foods makes you sick so I’ve given myself a little bit of a break.  I am also ridiculously bloated too which makes hiding our little secret even harder, so I thought I’d just share it…

We’re having another baby!

I am only 9 weeks  pregnant but we had a scan on Friday and everything looks good with a strong heartbeat flashing on the screen.  We have to go back in 3 weeks time for a more thorough dating scan but Baby M will be making an appearance some time in September!

Throughout my pregnancy I’ve been posting recipes that link to the size that baby is that week.  So here is my little gift to you all; our tasty recipes that represent each week of pregnancy so far:

Week 4

We didn’t know I was pregnant yet, baby was the size of a poppy seed!

Week 5

We still didn’t know!  Baby was the size of an apple pip!

Week 6

We found out, baby was the size of a pea!

Pea and Mint Fritters

Week 7

I felt AWFUL! This was around the time when the sickness struck!  Baby was the size of a blueberry.

Blueberry Muffins

Week 8

After many trips back and forth from the doctors I finally found something that helped my sickness, I now just feel like I have normal morning sickness (whoever called it that had clearly never experienced it!) rather than being unable to function!  Baby was the size of a raspberry.

Week 9

We saw our baby for the first time.  It is the size of a grape, a grape that we have fallen head over heels in love with already!

We are so excited and can’t wait for our family to grow.

Harry is going to be an incredible big brother and has been promoted to head of food tasting, ready to train up our new recruit when the time comes.

I will start posting weekly updates and hopefully get back on track with my weekly meal plans soon, but for now, we just wanted to share our happy news with you all.
