Our Kitchen Tour

Any of you who have followed me for a while will know that last year we started our kitchen renovation.  It ended up taking over a year to get it to this point as a difficult pregnancy meant things were postponed!  It’s finally at a point where I’m happy to share it with you all and, even though we still need finishing touches, I’m really proud of how it’s looking.  Here’s a quick kitchen tour so you can see what it looks like now!

Here’s a few pictures of how our kitchen used to look:

And here’s what it looks like now…

The kitchen units were from DIY Kitchens and we’re really pleased with them.  We got our appliances from AO.com and, although I was dubious about buying everything online at first I’m really pleased with everything we got.

Our tablecloth and lampshades are from Dunelm Mill and were absolute bargains!  I’d definitely recommend checking them out! I also always get asked where my high chair is from.  It’s a tripp trapp and we love it!  Harry uses it as a toddler chair now but it will soon be converted back into a high chair ready for Megan to start weaning!

We chose to have shelves in the kitchen for extra storage and decoration.  We have some scrabble espresso cups on display and kilner jars for extra storage.  We also have our herbs and spices in a basket up here as it makes them really easy to access when we’re cooking.   I love dressing these up for different times of the year like Halloween and Christmas!  Elf on the shelf particularly enjoyed sitting up here to keep an eye on Harry over the festive period!

We also have another shelf behind the door which holds our favourite recipe books.  Our vaccume cleaner lives here too as it’s out of the way and convenient to grab and clean up after each meal!  I treated myself to the Dyson V8 animal a few months ago and, honestly, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent!  It makes life so much easier!  Our steriliser lives in this corner too.  It’s near the sink so perfect for just popping on after the bottles have been washed.  It doesn’t get used much as Megan is breast fed but it’s handy to have ready for sterilising dummies and bottles when we use them.

We still need a few bits to finish the kitchen off like blinds, a new kettle and toaster but I’m so pleased with how it looks so far, it’s a huge improvement already!
