Feeding my family for £10 each a week: Meal plan and food haul

I’ve been asked a lot recently on social media how I feed my family for £40 a week.  I thought I’d share a typical meal plan to show you how I do it!

This was the first shop after pay day so I’ve probably spent more than normal but this will even out over the month.  When I say £40 a week this is an average over a month.  This week I spent £53 but also got nappies, pull ups, toilet roll and dishwasher tablets, which obviously added to my total spend.  Some of the meals I’ve planned will make enough for 2 meals which will bring costs down in other weeks too.

If you’d rather watch my meal plan and shopping haul you can here:

Here’s what we’re eating this week:

The pork, chorizo and chickpea casserole, minted lamb, mash and veg, turkey burgers and bolognese will make enough for 2 meals for the family, which will make things cheaper in weeks to come so I’m not too worried about going over this week.  I’ll be sure to share our shopping hauls for the rest of the month with you too so you can see how it balances out!

If you have any questions about how we meal plan and budget please feel free to ask in the comments!

  1. I meal plan and yet still spend double what you do!I have no idea how you, and many others, do it. All I can say is well done!
