Super simple meal plan on a budget

Gosh it’s been a while since I posted a meal plan!  I’ve been doing them but haven’t posted them on my blog.  I haven’t really posted much on my blog recently if I’m honest and I need to sort that out.  So here’s this week’s super simple meal plan.  As always I was shopping on a budget and I’ve had loads of questions about how I save money on our food shop so I’m going to share a few top tips in this post too!

Mid January Meal Plan

I’m feeling motivated this week!  I’m fed up of looking in the mirror and being unhappy with my reflection.  I’ve always put so much time and effort into giving the children healthy meals but I’m guilty of not doing the same for myself.  Over the past 6 months I’ve gained a stone and a half and I’ve lost so much confidence.  It’s time to stop crying into my chocolate about it and do something to fix it!  I go on holiday in June and would love to be able to enjoy myself and don’t want fear of my wobbly bits to get in the way of that.

Our first meal plan of September and my top tips for avoiding food waste

I can’t believe it’s September already!  Pretty soon we’ll be having to think about packed lunches as Harry starts preschool next week but for now I’m just going to enjoy the final week of having both my babies home during the day.  As always, we’re shopping on a tight budget but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to eat really tasty, healthy meals!

Slimming world update, meal plan and Alistair’s observations on how I’m doing

Last week was a bad weigh in for me.  I gained 4lbs and was absolutely gutted.  I’ll be honest, it really knocked me and I had a bit of a wobble about carrying on.  I felt unmotivated and fed up.  With Easter round the corner I just wanted to eat all the chocolate and forget about losing weight.

How is it even possible to gain this much in one week?! Slimming World Update and Meal Plan

I’ll be honest I may have had a little cry when I got home from weigh in tonight.  I knew I’d been naughty, I’d given myself the week off and let myself eat and drink whatever I wanted.  I expected a gain and was prepared for it.  I wasn’t prepared for how much though!

Cheap and tasty meals: Slimming World friendly meal plan for the whole family

It’s that time of the year when pay day feels like an eternity away and we’re all feeling the pinch after Christmas.  This week my goal is to prepare cheap and tasty meals whilst staying on plan at Slimming World.  I had a bad weekend where I may have been led astray by a bottle of wine and eaten a pizza.  I find it definitely helps me to be good when I have a meal plan in place and all the food in the house to prepare each meal.  It also saves money too which is a definite win win!  Another thing I find that helps me stay on plan is keeping a food diary.  There’s something about writing down and coming face to face with everything you’ve eaten that makes you think twice about which foods you eat!

Our favourite meals from last week and our meal plan for this week

I’ve been back on Slimming World for a week now and so far I’ve lost  2lbs.  Not loads but a loss and its a step in the right direction.   I find doing a meal plan really helped to keep me focused and helped me to make good choices.  It also helped me to choose meals that we would all enjoy as a family rather than rushing at the last minute and cooking two meals, one for Harry and another for Alistair and I.  This week I’m going to increase the amount of ‘speed’ food that I’m eating.  Harry loves veggies and fruit so this will be a hit with him too I’m sure!

Trying something different: This week’s meal plan

This week I did things a little bit differently to normal.  Usually I plan our meals first then go shopping with a very strict shopping list.  This week I went shopping first then planned around the foods I bought.  I did end up spending more than normal (£56 instead of the usual £40) but I’ve got enough food to make meals for next week too so think that over the course of 2 weeks it will balance itself out to mean I’ve spent the same over the course of the month.
