I’m feeling motivated this week! I’m fed up of looking in the mirror and being unhappy with my reflection. I’ve always put so much time and effort into giving the children healthy meals but I’m guilty of not doing the same for myself. Over the past 6 months I’ve gained a stone and a half and I’ve lost so much confidence. It’s time to stop crying into my chocolate about it and do something to fix it! I go on holiday in June and would love to be able to enjoy myself and don’t want fear of my wobbly bits to get in the way of that.

Happy new year!
I haven’t share a meal plan on here for a while but I’m feeling motivated to get organised and we’re trying something different so I wanted to share!

I’m back on it again with the meal planning. We had the opportunity to try something a little different this week and are really excited to see how it fits into our family meal plan.

We’re finally out of our week of spending nothing and eating leftovers. We’re back to our £50 a week shopping budget and I spent £46 on our ‘big shop’ this week. Harry’s not in nursery this week so there wont be any packed lunches to make and instead he’ll be eating the same as Megan and I for lunch.

Ok, It’s that time of the month when we always struggle. It’s 5 days til payday and we are broke. We can’t afford to shop, the cupboards are looking pretty bare but we have 4 of us to feed. I wont lie, it’s going to be hard but it can be done!

I can’t believe it’s September already! Pretty soon we’ll be having to think about packed lunches as Harry starts preschool next week but for now I’m just going to enjoy the final week of having both my babies home during the day. As always, we’re shopping on a tight budget but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to eat really tasty, healthy meals!

I’ve been asked a lot recently on social media how I feed my family for £40 a week. I thought I’d share a typical meal plan to show you how I do it!

I’ve been eating really badly recently. I’ve been feeling down and my mental health has definitely had an affect on my physical health. I’ve decided it’s time to do something about it and have done a ‘healthy eating meal plan’ to help keep me on plan.

I’m back on it!! I’ve been back on plan with Slimming World for a week now, to find out how I’m doing, what meals I’ve enjoyed and what I’ll be eating this week, keep reading!

I am feeling so much better after getting back on plan this week! After a month of eating like a pig and avoiding the scales I gained 6.5lbs from my lowest Slimming World Weight. I was feeling down, ugly, and lethargic and something had to change. So I got back on it.

Last week was a bad weigh in for me. I gained 4lbs and was absolutely gutted. I’ll be honest, it really knocked me and I had a bit of a wobble about carrying on. I felt unmotivated and fed up. With Easter round the corner I just wanted to eat all the chocolate and forget about losing weight.

I’ll be honest I may have had a little cry when I got home from weigh in tonight. I knew I’d been naughty, I’d given myself the week off and let myself eat and drink whatever I wanted. I expected a gain and was prepared for it. I wasn’t prepared for how much though!

This is going to be a really short one this week.

It’s that time of the year when pay day feels like an eternity away and we’re all feeling the pinch after Christmas. This week my goal is to prepare cheap and tasty meals whilst staying on plan at Slimming World. I had a bad weekend where I may have been led astray by a bottle of wine and eaten a pizza. I find it definitely helps me to be good when I have a meal plan in place and all the food in the house to prepare each meal. It also saves money too which is a definite win win! Another thing I find that helps me stay on plan is keeping a food diary. There’s something about writing down and coming face to face with everything you’ve eaten that makes you think twice about which foods you eat!

I’ve been back on Slimming World for a week now and so far I’ve lost 2lbs. Not loads but a loss and its a step in the right direction. I find doing a meal plan really helped to keep me focused and helped me to make good choices. It also helped me to choose meals that we would all enjoy as a family rather than rushing at the last minute and cooking two meals, one for Harry and another for Alistair and I. This week I’m going to increase the amount of ‘speed’ food that I’m eating. Harry loves veggies and fruit so this will be a hit with him too I’m sure!

Last weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday. I’ve decided to make this the start of a healthier, happier me.

Short and sweet meal plan this week, I’ve only planned evening meals again as it worked well for us last week. I got giddy with my shopping last week so the meals this week are designed to use up the things I bought but didn’t use.

This week I did things a little bit differently to normal. Usually I plan our meals first then go shopping with a very strict shopping list. This week I went shopping first then planned around the foods I bought. I did end up spending more than normal (£56 instead of the usual £40) but I’ve got enough food to make meals for next week too so think that over the course of 2 weeks it will balance itself out to mean I’ve spent the same over the course of the month.

Although this weekend was predicted to be rainy we’ve had some lovely weather and been able to get out and about a lot. Next week is the last week before the Summer holidays start and Harry finishes nursery so we’ve been getting in the holiday spirit early.

The sun was shining this morning so we decided to head to our local fruit farm. We’ve never taken Harry before and I haven’t been since I was a young girl so I was really excited to take him.

This week’s meal plan is a really simple one, I’m trying to keep everything as simple as possible. Between the heat at the moment, working and feeling like the size of a whale at almost 29 weeks pregnant I’m all about minimal effort cooking!

This month has been an expensive one. With my best friends wedding and Harry’s birthday both next Saturday we have spent a lot on presents, dresses, suits etc. We’re also having a small family BBQ to celebrate Harry’s birthday next Sunday so will need to buy goodies for that.

It’s been a while since I last meal planned. Thinking about food when you are suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum is not the most fun thing but I think our family has really suffered from us not having a plan in place, both nutritionally and financially. Along with this week’s meal plan I’m going to share a list of things that we like to have in our cupboards all the time, our store cupboard essentials that help us make something out of nothing when we get to the end of the month and money is tight. Having a few basic ingredients in the cupboards means that we can create something tasty for our family on those days where we haven’t planned ahead.
