Ingredients:
- 500g minced beef
- 500g passata
- 500g beef stock (we use low salt oxo cubes!)
- 100g tomato purée
- A generous handful of chopped spinach
- A handful of grated or chopped carrot
- A handful of grated or chopped courgette
- A handful of grated or chopped mushrooms
- 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Worcester sauce to taste (we like a good 2 tsps full)
- Black pepper to taste
- Cooking oil or fry light for cooking
- (You can add chopped onions and tomatoes too, my husband hates them though so we make it without.)
Method:
- Brown the meat in a pan with the garlic (and onions if you are using them).
- Add the passata, stock, tomato purée and Worcester sauce. Allow to cook for 2 minutes then turn down to a gentle simmer.
- Add the vegetables and herbs. Mix well and leave to simmer for 20 minutes.
- Serve with pasta, spaghetti or in a pita bread for something a bit different! Harry likes his with a bit of cheese sprinkled in top!
